The Storm Area 51 event, which was set to see potentially thousands of people rush the US government’s Area 51 facility in hope of revealing aliens, has been cancelled by its creator and moved to a different venue.

As reported by the AirForceTimes, event creator Matty Roberts posted a notice earlier this week to announce that he was cancelling the event in its current form. He claims that Storm Area 51 – which eventually evolved into a full festival called Alienstock – has a “lack of infrastructure, poor planning, risk management and blatant disregard for the safety of the expected 10,000+ Alienstock attendees.” As such, Roberts has called that plan off.
