There are a handful of classic RPGs built on the Infinity engine and based on the vintage Dungeons & Dragons experience that turned out not only to be some of the best D&D roleplaying games ever made but some of the best roleplaying games of all time. Games like Baldur’s Gate, Baldur’s Gate 2, Planescape: Torment, and Icewind Dale, still pull on those nostalgia heartstrings 20 years later, and they’re making another comeback.

While developer Beamdog has been quietly releasing enhanced editions of these great roleplaying games over the last few years on PC, the news that the developer is partnering with Skybound Entertainment to release the enhanced versions to consoles for the first time should be anything but quiet. Think about it: Baldur’s Gate on your Nintendo Switch. That’s awesome. Fortunately, we got our hands on a few early builds of the ports, and you can check out gameplay of Baldur’s Gate 1, 2, and Icewind Dale enhanced editions running on the PlayStation 4 in the video above before they’re released later this year.
