All September long, IGN is highlighting the best TV coming your way in the 2019-2020 season. Today we’re focusing on CBS’ new psychological thriller Evil, created by The Good Wife’s Robert and Michelle King, and starring Luke Cage’s Mike Colter, Westworld’s Katja Herbers, and Person of Interest’s Michael Emerson. The series explores the origins of evil along the dividing line between science and religion, centering on a skeptical female psychologist, Kristen Bouchard (Herbers), who joins a priest-in-training (Colter) and a carpenter (Aasif Mandvi) as they investigate the Church’s backlog of unexplained mysteries, including supposed miracles, demonic possessions, and hauntings. Their job is to assess if there is a logical explanation or if something truly supernatural is at work.
