With 2019 being Batman’s 80th anniversary, it goes without saying there’s been no shortage of high-profile Batman comics hitting the stands this year. But DC definitely saved one of its biggest guns for last. None other than horror movie icon John Carpenter is co-writing a new comic starring the Clown Prince of Crime.
Carpenter is co-writing Joker: Year of the Villain #1 along with Anthony Burch, a writer best known for his work on Borderlands 2 and who previously worked on a Big Trouble in Little China comic with Carpenter. While the prospect of John Carpenter writing one of the most iconic supervillains in pop culture is a big deal, according to Carpenter the project had very simple origins.
