With production on James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad now underway — and the movie itself due out August 6, 2021 — the Guardians of the Galaxy director received the perfect gift from his agent to commemorate his new stab at the Squad: The first-ever appearance of the original Suicide Squad in Brave and the Bold issue 25, from 1959. A debut that pre-dates the Justice League’s formation by three issues.
