While it’s not the dual-screen device we anticipate Microsoft would announce, the company surprised us with a premium version of the Surface Pro X.

Meet the Surface Pro X, Microsoft’s thinnest Windows tablet yet measuring just 5.3mm and it weights just 1.68 pounds. It also features a whole new mobile processor Microsoft calls the Microsoft SQ1 processor, basically making it equivlent to an Xbox One X.

We don’t know exactly what’s in the processor, but Panos Panay described it as containinng Snapdragon mobile DNA—so ARM—alongside an integrated AI accelerator. Unlike most ARM processors that run at 2W, this SQ1 processor pushes over 7W of power to make it three times more performant per watt than the Pro 6. According to Microsoft, this new processor delivers over two teraflops of graphics performance.
