In July 2015, Italian indie developer Invader Games unveiled Resident Evil 2 Reborn, a short-lived fan project aiming to remake RE2 for a modern audience. A month later, Capcom officially announced the Resident Evil 2 remake and Reborn was dead. But from its ashes came Daymare: 1998, an original survival horror game that bears more than a passing resemblance to the original that kickstarted it all.

What a HUNK
Masked mystery HUNK has always been a favourite among Resident Evil fans, and this ruthless Umbrella agent is definitely the inspiration for Daymare’s Agent Liev. Both carry an MP5, are dressed entirely in black and their faces are covered by a rather sinister looking gas mask. Look familiar?
