Intel has unveiled a new set of X-series high-end desktop processors. While the new Cascade-X chips offer more power and support for your high-end hardware, the most important thing about these chips is the fact that they’re far cheaper.
Intel’s last top-end 18-core CPU, the Intel Core i9-9980XE, went for a cool $1,999 at launch, but its replacement, the Intel Core i9-10980XE, costs half as much at only $979. More impressively, Intel’s new entry-level 10-core Core i9-10900X processor only costs a mere $590, again nearly half the price of the previous $989 Intel Core i9-9900X.
