Pirates of the Caribbean is reportedly being rebooted at Disney with the creator of Chernobyl teaming up with a writer on the first four films to work out a story.

Deadline reports that Craig Mazin (Chernobyl, Scary Movie 3) and Ted Elliott (Aladdin, National Treasure: Book of Secrets) are working together to crank out a story that will reboot the blockbuster series. Jerry Bruckheimer is likely to return as a producer, but it’s unknown if Johnny Depp will be back on board.

If this story sounds familiar, it’s because it was reported about a year ago that Disney hired Deadpool and Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick to write a Pirates reboot. However, they left the project earlier this year.
