Update: The Game of Thrones Fire and Blood planned spinoff series from Ryan Condal and George R.R. Martin is currently the only prequel show alive and well at HBO. The network has opted not to pick up The Longest Night pilot to series, meaning the Naomi Watts-starring project is not moving forward.
Deadline reports that the Fire and Blood Game of Thrones prequel was given the “unofficial pilot green light” back in September. Once a finished pilot is delivered to HBO, the network will review the project and determine whether they want to give it a full series order or not move forward with it.
