Very few performers have ever gotten to experience the type of instant, astronomical fame heaped onto Robert Pattinson when he starred in the Twilight Saga. Now Pattinson, who’s playing Bruce Wayne in Matt Reeves’ The Batman, hopes that history doesn’t repeat itself.
Notably, after the Twilight movies, Pattinson devoted himself to a series of smaller films and projects, like David Cronenberg’s Cosmoplolis and, recently, Robert Eggers’ The Lighthouse. But now he’s back in the limelight, playing DC’s most bankable hero.
Talking to TODAY’s Willie Geist, Pattison said he thinks it’s “impossible” to replicate what happened with the Twilight films. Though, he laughed, “I’m hoping it won’t be people hanging outside my place.”
