René Auberjonois, the actor who played Odo on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, has died at age 79.
The Hollywood Reporter states the actor’s son, Remy Auberjonois, said his father passed away at his home in Los Angeles on Sunday due to metastatic lung cancer.
Auberjonois was a prolific actor with a storied career. He was perhaps most famously known for his role as Odo the shape-shifter in Deep Space Nine but other fans might recognize him for his turn as Paul Lewiston on Boston Legal or as Father John Mulcahy in Robert Altman’s film M*A*S*H*.
