During the 2019 Game Awards, Microsoft lifted the veil on the official name of its next-generation console. What we’ve known as Project Scarlett is now officially Xbox Series X, and Xbox head Phil Spencer introduced the new name, and look, live on stage.
What we can’t do quite yet is preorder Xbox Series X, but with a holiday 2020 release date and concrete PS5 news bound to drop any day now, it’s just a matter of time. It’s a bummer if you’re wanting to ensure you’re among the first to get your hands on Xbox Series X, but there is a way to preorder the next Xbox… sort of.
