So how was the box office the weekend before Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker?

Well, not surprisingly, Jumanji: The Next Level — starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Kevin Hart — landed at number one with an estimated $60.1 million. That’s almost double the debut of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, which opened with $36 million.

The film knocked Frozen 2 off its perch, after the Disney sequel ruled for three weeks, and will close in on $200 million worldwide by the end of the weekend.

Frozen 2 continued to rake in cash, of course, holding on solidly to the number two spot with $19.2 million, making for a $366 million total domestically. Variety reports too that it’s now officially the sixth Disney film in 2019 to hit $1 billion.
