Birds of Prey is officially rated R for violence, language, and “sexual material.”
The rating was attached on December 18, according to FilmRatings.com. The film earned its rating for “strong violence and language throughout, and some sexual and drug material.”
It’s the second live-action DC movie to be released in theaters with an R rating. Joker was the first and became the highest-grossing R-rated movie in history as well as the second biggest DC movie ever. After Joker earned those distinctions there were talks of other DC movies – such as The Suicide Squad – that could be R rated as well.
