The Game Awards announced its viewership statistics on Wednesday, revealing that viewership is up 72% from last year. Further, host Geoff Keighley announced that The Game Awards received over 45 million live streams — almost doubling last year’s record of 26.2 million streams.

Not only did this year’s Game Awards break its own viewership record, but it also came close to receiving more viewers than this year’s Oscars/Academy Awards (29.6 M) and Grammy Awards (19.9 M) combined.

Further, Video Game Analyst Daniel Ahmad of Niko Partners revealed on Twitter that The Game Awards 2019 peaked at 7.5 million concurrent viewers and 15.5 million votes from audience members — which is up 50% year over year.
