Dr Helen Sharman, the first British astronaut to go into space, has claimed aliens exist and it is possible they are already living among us here on Earth.
Speaking to the Observer magazine, Sharman reflected on her collective years in the field of science and technology, including her milestone mission to the Soviet modular space station Mir in May 1991. During the interview she claimed that extraterrestrial life exists somewhere in the universe.
“Aliens exist, there’s no two ways about it,” she said, adding, “there must be all sorts of different forms of life” among the billions of stars in our galaxy. She also noted that aliens may not be made up of carbon and nitrogen like humans, and as such “it’s possible they’re here right now and we simply can’t see them.”
