Following last year’s hostless broadcast, the Academy Awards will forego having a host for next month’s Oscars ceremony telecast.
“Let me confirm it now, together with the Academy, that there will be no traditional host this year,” ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke said Wednesday at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour in Pasadena.
As The Hollywood Reporter notes, ABC saw ratings for last year’s hostless Oscars broadcast improve 11.5 percent year-over-year compared to 2018’s hosted ceremony.
