A Quiet Place 1 and 2’s co-writer, director, and star hasn’t ruled out the possibility of making a third film in the series.

In an interview with Total Film magazine (via GamesRadar), John Krasinski said that A Quiet Place Part 2 may not necessarily be the last we see of the scary world of sound-sensitive monsters he created.

“I set up a couple of tiny little Easter eggs in 2 that not only explain more about 1, but would allow for more mythology,” Krasinski said. “But, being a Boston Catholic, I can’t be like, ‘Yeah, of course, there’ll be a third!’ No, not at all.”

Krasinski made it clear that he’s not talked to the studio about making another film in the series after A Quiet Place Part 2, and adds that “this isn’t one of those franchises where we keep pumping them out if they make money.”

However, Krasinski didn’t shut down the idea of doing A Quiet Place Part 3 at one point, he would just need to be happy with it.

“But if I could think of a way to continue this world as elegantly as people deserve, because they gave me their trust in watching this movie and loving this movie as much as they did? Sure,” he said. “But if you’re asking: do I think I could just do a third one, to just do a third one? No way.”

A Quiet Place Part 2 is due to arrive in theatres in March 2020. It’s said to focus more on the origins of the film’s monsters as well as tell the stories of other survivors.

In our A Quiet Place review we gave it an 8.2 and said “it’ll probably remind you of Jurassic Park mixed with Cloverfield, plus a dash of Aliens and a pinch of Buffy’s ‘Hush’.”
