If you’ve been considering picking up a VR headset, now is a great time to buy. The HTC Vive Pro just got a $200 price cut, bringing all of its configurations down to new low prices. And considering that Half-Life: Alyx is coming in March as a VR exclusive, you’ll probably want to be able to play it at launch. Here are the details and new low pricing for the HTC Vive Pro.

HTC Vive Pro Starter Kit Is $200 Off

Most people will probably want the Vive Pro Starter Kit. It comes with the headset, two SteamVR Base Stations, and two Vive controllers. It also includes six months of Viveport Infinity, which grants you unlimited access to hundreds of VR games, apps, and videos.

The Vive Pro headset is an improved version of the original Vive hardware. It has higher resolution (two OLED displays with a combined resolution of 2880×1600), improved 3D audio headphones, and an ergonomic design that makes it more comfortable to wear. The Vive controllers allow you to use your hands individually in games, and the base stations allow for room-scale VR experiences.

If all you need is the headset itself, this is one to get. It used to cost $799 on its own, but the new price going forward is $599. It comes with the headset and six months of Viveport Infinity. What this package lacks are the Vive controllers and base stations, which are included in the starter kit above. Note that if you buy the headset alone, you’ll likely end up paying a lot more by picking up base stations and controllers later.

HTC Vive Pro Full Kit is $200 Off

The final option is the HTC Vive Pro Full Kit. The only difference between the Full Kit and the Starter Kit is that the Full Kit comes with SteamVR Tracking 2.0, which allows for much larger room-scale VR experiences. It’s geared towards businesses, so you won’t need it unless you have a gymnasium in your house that you want to turn into a VR room. Most people will better served with the Starter Kit.
