David Cage says his studio Quantic Dream will have “lots of surprises” for fans in 2020.
Cage is the founder of Quantic Dream, and is the lead writer and director of games including Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human.
His message for fans came in a tweet:
Ok, I’m late… but I wanted to say
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I wish you the best for 2020.
2019 has been an amazing year for the studio.
2020 should be even more exciting! We have a lot of surprises to come for our fans, so stay tuned!

Could it be a new game announcement? Given Quantic Dreams’ long-running relationship with Sony it could be that the studio is working on a next-gen title for the PlayStation 5.
That said, the latest release from Quantic Dream was the enhanced PC version of 2018’s Detroit: Become Human. It’s been available on the Epic Games store since December 12, 2019.

Quantic Dreams also brought its previous games Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls to PC through the Epic Games store in 2019. Before that, all three of those games were exclusive to PlayStation consoles.
As the studio started to branch out to other platforms it could be that the surprises Quantic Dream has in 2020 include bringing those games to more platforms. Or it could perhaps be gearing up to have its first big multiplatform game launch in 15 years.

Whatever Quantic Dream has in store, it should be worth waiting for, especially as our Detroit: Become Human review gave it an 8. Hopefully Quantic Dream will have an announcement that forces us to update our list of potential PS5 launch games when the console comes out in holiday 2020.
