Platinum Games is potentially teasing something to do with The Wonderful 101 again. Fans have been clamouring for a sequel or Switch port of the 2013 Wii U exclusive for a while now, and they just might get their wish soon enough.
In a recent tweet, the studio posted a picture of game director Hideki Kamiya sitting at his desk. It’s an innocuous enough photo, but if you look closely at his monitor you’ll see the time displayed is 1:01. This, inevitably, is enough to get fans buzzing. Factor in the Switch sitting on his desk and the rumours of a port have once-again been sent into overdrive.

This isn’t the first time Platinum has teased a Wonderful 101 Switch port, of course. Back in 2017, the company tweeted a picture of the game’s heroes with Joy-Cons in hand. In more concrete news, Kamiya and head producer Atsushi Inaba said in 2018 that Platinum was negotiating with Nintendo for a possible Switch release. Inaba has previously expressed a desire to bring The Wonderful 101 to Switch, too, joking in an interview with Famitsu that the game was only played by 13 people worldwide on Wii U.
It’s not surprising that Platinum would want to give the action game a second chance to find an audience. The Wonderful 101 scored 8/10 in GameSpot’s review, with Martin Gaston saying, “This is an ambitious, funny, and inventive game that’s keen to impress but slightly scrappy in its presentation, packed with ideas but is slightly confused about how to express all its abundant creativity. This might not be the Wii U’s killer app, but it’s a much-needed shot in the arm.”
Here’s hoping we hear something official soon instead of more teasing.
