The Nintendo Switch version of the recent sci-fi RPG The Outer Worlds has been delayed due to the current outbreak of coronavirus.
Publisher Private Division tweeted a statement saying The Outer Worlds would be delayed due to the impact of the coronavirus on the team at Virtuos, which is working on the port. The tweet is followed up with another clarifying that everyone on the team is healthy but they are keeping the office closed, likely for preventative action.
We’re delaying @OuterWorlds on Nintendo Switch due to the coronavirus impacting the Virtuos team working on the port, to provide them enough time to finish development. We’ll now be releasing the physical version on cartridge. Once we have a new launch date, we’ll let you know!

The good news is, aside from keeping employees safe, there’s another silver lining to this delay. A physical version of The Outer Worlds looks to be released on cartridge for Switch owners, which is especially useful for those running out of memory card space.
