Last week, the Pokemon Center announced it was releasing a series of limited-edition solid wood Pokemon skateboards in collaboration with skateboard craftsman Bear Walker. Available starting on February 11, each of the unique boards in the collection features a different Pokemon including Gengar, Charizard, Mewtwo, Gyarados, and Pikachu. We got our hands on the Pikachu board early, which you can watch an unboxing of in the video above!

The Pikachu board that we received is truly an impressive, functional piece of art. Though, sure, it absolutely can be used as a traditional cruiser, it was so beautiful that no one in the IGN office wanted to potentially mar Pikachu’s pretty wooden cheeks by riding it.
The official Pokemon Twitter account recently shared a short video of how each of Bear Walker’s maple wood boards is made, which you can see embedded below.
Each Bear Walker board is a handcrafted work of art—and Bear Walker’s Pokémon boards are no exception.

The boards will be a Pokemon Center exclusive and retail for $250. Considering this is “Series 1” of the Pokemon Center x Bear Walker line, we expect to see a “Series 2” at some point in the future, though nothing has been confirmed just yet.
What do you think? Is this Pokemon skateboard worth $250? Let us know in the comments, and for more on Pokemon, check out The Best Pokemon That Aren’t in Sword and Shield, Ranked (By You!).
