CD Projekt RED has confirmed that there are more Witcher adventures on the way. The next entry in the sword ‘n’ sorcery ‘n’ sexy adventure series will begin development once CDPR’s incoming epic Cyberpunk 2077 finally hits the shelves.

Speaking in a meeting with the press, CDPR President and CEO Adam Kicinski said that the team already has a “relatively clear concept” for the next Witcher title, but intriguingly noted that it would not be titled “The Witcher 4”. Coupled with comments that the title would be worked on by a smaller team at the Polish studio, it seems to imply that the next Witcher title is likely to be a spin-off, rather than a fully-fledged sequel.

Interestingly, Kicinski also said that now CDPR has two major universes to explore, it is likely that the studio will only be producing either Witcher or Cyberpunk games going forward. Here’s hoping that people take to the latter as enthusiastically as they have the former. Given how great Cyberpunk 2077 is looking so far, that seems a safe bet.

Cyberpunk 2077 launches September 17 on PS4, PC, Xbox One and Stadia.
