There are always a few usual suspects competing with new releases at the top of the sales charts in any given month. Grand Theft Auto V, FIFA, Call of Duty — these are all games that continue to sell well long beyond their launch window. Last month, an unexpected title showed up and took the top spot, although it probably drove hardly any revenue.

Assassin’s Creed Unity, the 2014 Assassin’s Creed that’s still mocked to this day, was the best-seller across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia, and Asia in February. That’s because it was being hocked on Steam for less than a cent in both South Korea and Indonesia. That’s, evidently, an offer that a lot of people couldn’t refuse.

This is actually the second time within the past calendar year that Assassin’s Creed Unity has seen a rapid swell in downloads. Ubisoft temporarily made it free last April following the fire at the Notre Dame. This sudden influx of purchases is born out of happier circumstances.

As for the rest of the best-sellers, it’s mostly those games mentioned above with some more Ubisoft peppered in for good measure. After Assassin’s Creed Unity, the top five is made up of Grand Theft Auto V, FIFA 20, Rainbow Six Siege, and The Division 2 in that order.
