Sony Pictures has rescheduled a swath of their 2020 movie releases –including Uncharted, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and Morbius — to various dates next year in light of the industry-wide shutdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The studio officially announced Monday that Uncharted, which halted production just days before filming was to begin, from March 5, 2021 to October 8, 2021.
Sony and Marvel’s Morbius, which was to have opened July 31st this year, has now pivoted to March 19, 2021. An unspecified Sony/Marvel title that was slated for 10/08/2021 is now TBD. It’s possible this film is the sequel to Spider-Man: Far From Home, as star Tom Holland has been poised to shoot the delayed Uncharted first before segueing to the MCU sequel.
