“The first iPhone SE was a hit with many customers who loved its unique combination of small size, high-end performance and affordable price,” Apple Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Phil Schiller, said in the announcement. “The new second-generation iPhone SE builds on a great idea and improves on it in every way – including our best-ever single-camera system for great photos and videos – while still being affordable.”
Schiller said the phone features the, “industry-leading performance of A13 Bionic that enables great battery life,” along with having a Portrait mode and takes Smart HDR photos. Schiller also said the iPhone SE takes “amazing video with stereo audio.”
With Touch ID back in the phone, so too is the Home button of previous iPhone designs. The larger bezels of previous generations of iPhones are back as well.

The iPhone SE will run on iOS 13 and is compatible with many of Apple’s usual features, including the App Store, Apple News, Apple TV+, Apple Pay, iCloud, and Apple Watch devices. The phone will continue to use Apple’s Lightning connector for charging and accessories like docks and CarPlay.
This new phone will be available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB variants with black, white, and (PRODUCT)RED color options. The (PRODUCT)RED variant of the phone is a part of Apple’s (RED) partnership that sees 100% of the sales of this color variant go toward HIV/AIDS program funding. The phone starts at $399 with the price rising based on the storage amount selected. The phone will be available for preorder starting at 5 a.m. PDT on Friday, April 17, from apple.com and the Apple Store app. Apple Stores and other authorized sellers and carriers will have the phone available for purchase on Friday, April 24.
