What is the last thing you finished watching?
As far as TV goes, the very last thing was Season 1 of Schitt’s Creek and Season 1 of Raising Dion. The last documentary I finished was the deeply enlightening Who Killed Malcolm X. The last movies we finished were Tootsie and Goodfellas, because believe it or not, I had never seen them!
We do our best in our home to always be consuming quality content, but it does take us loads of time to get through things because binging is nearly impossible for us as parents, and that’s all the more our reality during this time.
What are you currently watching?
The Outsider. We’re absolutely loving this show, every single element of the storytelling is intensely gripping.
What is your go-to comfort watch?
Honestly, culturally driven videos and craft videos on YouTube. Slice of life YouTube videos from different parts of the world are my JAM. I also cannot resist watching YouTube videos of useful hacks and craft or DIY projects that I can do with my son.
What book are you reading? / What is the last book you read?
Angela Davis’s stunning autobiography and Gentle Birth, Gentle Mothering by Sarah Buckley. I also currently have 14 books in my Blinkist reading list.
The last book I finished was Supernatural Childbirth by Jackie Mize, and we just finished Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach with our son.
We’re still figuring out the perfect schedule for our family right now, and strategizing reading time is a big part of that, not just for our son but for us as well. I’m also preparing my mind, body and spirit for birth so that’s one of my priorities at the moment.
What game are you playing? / What is the last game you played?
We play lots of games with our son every day. We play number games, card games, hide and seek with walkie talkies, whatever we can think of! We just finished a game of Monopoly for my husband’s birthday because it’s one of his all time favorites.
What is next on your to-watch/read/play list?
American Factory and Snowfall / Orgasmic Birth by Elizabeth Davis and Debra Pascali-Bonaro / The board game Life
I’m really looking forward to digging into this documentary and series. I’ve never played Life before so that should be good family fun, and I’m super intrigued about what this book has to say…!
What is one thing you’d recommend that other people should watch/read/play if they’re looking for something new?
Anything life-affirming!
I believe that in these uncertain times, we should all be watching, reading and playing anything that makes us grow by teaching us new things, informing us about our world, stirring up our empathy, or giving us hope.
Brent Spiner (Data/Dr. Soong)
What is the last thing you finished watching?
Babylon Berlin Season 3 on Netflix.
Seasons one and two were breathtaking. Literally. And Season 3 makes you hunger for Season 4. I can’t wait! But you have to watch it in the original German!
What are you currently watching?
Ken Burns’ JAZZ
Burns’ work always focuses on the most American experiences. From The Civil War documentary, to the glorious Country Music, and my personal favorite, Baseball, his brilliant work always brings me comfort.
What is your go-to comfort watch?
The Office. No matter how many times I watch it, I always find myself laughing and feeling good about myself. At least I’m not Michael Scott.
What book are you reading? / What is the last book you read?
I don’t read much fiction. So, at the moment I am reading Jeanine Basinger’s book, The Movie Musical. She’s a scholar and a master on anything dealing with cinema. Next up, The Brothers Mankiewicz about, well, the Mankiewicz brothers.
What game are you playing? / What is the last game you played?
I don’t play games. I hate all games. I don’t like winning, and I don’t like losing. So, what’s the point?
What is next on your to-watch/read/play list?
30 Rock. Crazy, but I’ve never seen it. My son says it’s his go-to show. He’s seen the whole series dozens of times. And I have seven seasons to look forward to.
What is one thing you’d recommend that other people should watch/read/play if they’re looking for something new?
I’d suggest memorizing the Oxford English Dictionary. It’ll kill lots of time, and if you can get from A to Z, think of how good your vocabulary will be. You’ll have the best words!
Evan Evagora (Elnor)
What is the last thing you finished watching?
The last show I finished up watching was Final Space season 2, I’ve gotten back on my sci fi binge recently and this animated sci fi comedy delivers on everything! Centred around a space officer called Gary Speedman and his pet alien, Moon Cake, this will have you in tears of laughter! Only thing I’d say before sitting down to watch this is keep an eye on your clock because time will fly!
What are you currently watching?
Tiger King. I think this is a show nearly everyone has heard of by now. I don’t want to reveal too much because it’ll ruin the show but it has everything; sex, drugs, rock n roll and tigers!

Stand-up comedy – anything that’s able to produce a laugh and help me unwind is a go to and my favourite stand up specials never fail.
What book are you reading? / What is the last book you read?
Not a Penny More, Not a Penny Less – an Oxford don, a revered society physician, a chic French art dealer, and a charming English lord. They have one thing in common. Overnight, each novice investor lost his life’s fortune to one man. Harvey Metcalfe!

Batman: Three Jokers – this is one of the graphic novels I’ve been so excited to finally get my hands on. It comes out in June and finally gives us background on three Jokers that have been such a big part of Batman history.
What is one thing you’d recommend that other people should watch/read/play if they’re looking for something new?
Anything you like! Now is the perfect time to explore anything that even slightly peaks your interests! Meditate, read, FaceTime someone you love. If it’s one thing we have at the moment, it’s time to appreciate the small things we can take for granted.
Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine)
What are you currently watching?
The Crown, which my whole family loves, Ozark, Schitt’s Creek. And there are a few more that I have lined up that I haven’t quite started yet.
What book are you reading? / What is the last book you read?
Right now I’m in the middle of Observatory Mansions by Edward Carey. It’s probably not for everyone, but I really like it and the further I get into it, the more I like it. It’s very strange. “A sublime take on a classic horror novel” [from the cover]. It’s very fresh. It’s very unusual, very unique, very quirky and bizarre. I like that kind of stuff.
I just finished The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes, and this one I really recommend. It is wonderful. Upsetting and heartbreaking and uplifting and all of those things. Really really really worth reading.
Michelle Hurd (Raffi Musiker)

Ozark. War of the Worlds. The Outsider. The Hunt. The Witcher. Fleabag (I’m late to this one… so good). Yep. I liked watching TV even BEFORE the pandemic.

My husband and I enjoy reading to each other. Right now we are reading a Stella Adler book. It’s good to circle back to the fundamentals. I also like fantasy. Red Sister is great. And The Mistborn series. They need to be made into movies.
What game are you playing? / What is the last game you played?
Current game: “What’s for dinner?” Last game: “What’s for breakfast?” … Yup, not much of a gamer. I know my nephews are very disappointed by my lack of gaming skills.

Looking forward to The Baker and the Beauty to support my pal Carlos Gomez, the next book in the Red Sister series, Grey Sister, and I’m looking forward to the next episode of Survivor. STOP judging!
What is one thing you’d recommend that other people should watch/read/play if they’re looking for something new?
Read The Book Thief, a beautiful story strangely apropos of these times. The Warded Man books are great sci-fi/fantasy, and Knowing Jesse by Marianne Leone is a gorgeous memoir. And what to watch: Star Trek: Picard, of course.
Isa Briones (Soji Asha/Dahj Asha)
What is the last thing you finished watching?
I finally caught up on Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and I am now officially in love with Rachel Brosnahan.

I am ashamed to say I am only just now watching The Office. I now get to know where all the memes come from.
What is your go-to comfort watch?
Schitt’s Creek. This show is the perfect mix of outrageous comedy and heart melting emotion. I’m waiting for season six to get to Netflix but I’m also dreading it. I can’t come to terms with this end of an era.
What book are you reading? / What is the last book you read?
I’m actually rereading Romeo & Juliet now. It’s so fun to go back and read a classic you read in your childhood and see how your life experiences have changed your perception of it.

What Remains of Edith Finch. I just played this on my Switch and I was blown away. I love a visually beautiful game with a compelling story and this has it all.

I am about to start Devs on Hulu to watch my girl Alison Pill.

Gris on Switch. I recently played this game and absolutely loved it. It’s all about a mental health journey accompanied by beautiful visuals. I was honestly so emotional when I finished it. I would definitely recommend playing it if you’re more into story driven games.
Alison Pill (Agnes Jurati)

I’ve been enjoying The Plot Against America. I think the cast is excellent, and the storytelling is what I’d expect from someone as talented as David Simon.

I think the BBC Pride and Prejudice with Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth will always hold a place in my heart as a comfort watch.
Jonathan Del Arco (Hugh)
What is the last thing you finished watching?
Schitt’s Creek. Trying to keep it light so this one is comedy gold. But also before bed time Golden Girls re-runs while I work on a puzzle.
What are you currently watching?
Ozark, You and RuPaul’s Drag Race and Making the Cut. Ozark and You are pretty dark so I gotta balance it with some drag queens and designers.
What is your go-to comfort watch?
Golden Girls. A classic comedy never gets old!
What book are you reading? / What is the last book you read?
The Complete works of William Shakespeare. Inspired by Patrick Stewart’s daily sonnet tweets I thought I’d give it a go but it’s been SLOW going!
What game are you playing? / What is the last game you played?
Puzzles. I have just discovered a new appreciation for this slow going meditative game – it always seemed like a waste of time but at the moment time is a plenty!
What is next on your to-watch/read/play list?
Star Trek: Voyager, re-watch of Picard and Discovery. I binged Next Gen last year so it’s time to do the same with Voyager and I’d like to watch Picard again from a fan’s point of view. It’s hard to do that when you first see your own work on a show. And Discovery so I can be refreshed for the new season!
What is one thing you’d recommend that other people should watch/read/play if they’re looking for something new?
My podcast Hollywood Caucus. Hosting and producing this show during this time has kept me sane and our guest list is off the charts with Sir Patrick Stewart, Jeri Ryan, Michelle Hurd, Kyra Sedgwick and Mary McDonnell doing long form interviews – you will hear things from them you never knew!
Wilson Cruz (Hugh Culber)
What is the last thing you finished watching?
I’m on a bit of a tear lately, but the last thing I finished watching was Self Made, with Octavia Spencer as the U.S.’s first female millionaire, Madame C.J. Walker. Loved watching my friend, Octavia, knock it out of the park and I wasn’t familiar with Ms. Walker’s story, so as a history buff, it was a real treat.
What are you currently watching?
OK, so I have a few that I’m juggling, depending on my mood. I’m almost done with Gentefied – hilarious, charming, moving and timely series about the gentrification of a historically Latinx LA neighborhood, Boyle Heights. It’s really about change and how we choose to navigate it. I’m also well into Luther, which I’ve always wanted to watch and Succession, both of which feature great writing and brilliant casts.
What is your go-to comfort watch?
This question makes me laugh because the answer says so much about my appreciation of strong women! When I need comfort I run to I Love Lucy, Golden Girls, Designing Women and Mary Tyler Moore. I love hilarious women!

I’m not a game player. 😉
What is next on your to-watch/read/play list?
I should be done with The Immortalist in the next couple of days just in time for me to start Julia Alvarez’s new book, Afterlife and then On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous, by Ocean Vuong… and next to watch is a series called Giri/Haji, that a friend recommended that sounds good.
