This is the 7th-generation iPad, the model that hits the bullseye between power and affordability. It can handle all the tasks nearly anyone would throw at it. It has thin bezels and a pixel-dense 10.2-inch screen, which is bigger than the 9.7-inch display on the previous model. It’s powered by the A10 Fusion chip, which can easily handle all the basic web browsing and video streaming you’re likely to do, as well as graphics-intensive games. You can even pair it with a PS4 or Xbox One controller for compatible games.

Also new to this model is compatibility with the first-gen Apple Pencil and full-sized Smart Keyboard. These accessories are great for anyone looking to get more use out of the device. The Smart Keyboard connects automatically to the iPad when you attach it, and also acts as a protective case when it’s closed. The Apple Pencil is great for taking notes, drawing, and marking up documents. AirPods are also compatible.
As it happens, the Smart Keyboard is on sale for $99 right now at Amazon, down from $159. The Apple Pencil gets a 5% discount at checkout.
This is particular iPad model has 128GB of storage, an upgrade to the 32GB baseline model. With the size of modern apps, you’ll almost certainly need the added storage anyway.
