Castle sim Stronghold: Warlords will be released on PC via Steam on September 29th, and will arrive with a co-op multiplayer mode.
Revealed at IGN Expo today, the new co-op mode will allow two players to build, defend and besiege castles together. You can check out a brand new multiplayer trailer for the game below:

“Multiplayer will include the ability to play in teams with friends or against the AI, but also the option to control a single castle cooperatively” said Nick Tannahill, Marketing Director at Firefly Studios in a press release. “For instance, one player could handle the economy from the start while the other builds up an army. Then later during a siege that player could control defensive units like the Fire Lancer and Archers, while the other triggers castle traps and puts out fires.”
Stronghold: Warlords takes the series to the Far East, encompassing Japanese, Chinese, Mongol and more medieval forces, battling over fortified locations.
September 29 marks a worldwide release for the game, and will include multiplayer and full Steam Workshop support to allow for user-created castles, maps and scenarios.
