PAX has announced that it will replace the PAX West and PAX Australia live events this year with PAX Online, a new all-digital virtual event. PAX Online will take place from Sept. 12 to 20 and will be free to attend.

PAX Online is promising nine days of live shows, game reveals, exclusive hands-on demos, and esports tournaments. It is the official replacement for PAX West and PAX Aus, which will no longer take place likely due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement, PAX co-founder Jerry Holkins says, “PAX Online brings that shared experience home, along with game reveals, exclusive hands-on experiences, the chance to hear from and speak with your favorite game developers, plus so much more.”

PAX is the latest live games event that’s been impacted by the ongoing pandemic. Major game shows like E3 have already been canceled or postponed this year due to the crisis. Other shows like GDC and Gamescom have switched to digital alternatives.

IGN has also been hosting a Summer of Gaming digital event with reveals, interviews, and more. You can check out everything announced at the show so far here.
