NBA star Donovan Mitchell has teamed up with Adidas to release a new sneaker inspired by everyone’s favorite wallcrawling superhero, Spider-Man.
This Spider-Man-inspired sneaker is the second release in Mitchell’s footwear line D.O.N. (which stands for “Determination Over Negativity”). Dubbed “Marvel x Adidas: D.O.N Issue #2 – Spidey-Sense,” the shoe features a very striking blend of Glory Mint, Signal Green and Solar Red color tones, along with various bits of Spider-Man imagery and comic book sound effects scattered throughout. In true Radioactive Spider-Man fashion, it even glows in the dark. You can get a closer look at the Spidey-Sense footwear in the slideshow gallery below:

In case you’re more concerned with function than form, here’s how Adidas describes the sneaker:
The D.O.N. Issue #2 collection features a BOUNCE midsole that arms Mitchell with enhanced comfort and stability for explosive on-court movements. The sneaker complements his style of play when it comes to his illusive speed and power, equipped with great traction. New to the model is a higher heel counter calling attention to the guard’s spider-inspired logo. The upper features an engineered soft and breathable mesh that provides improved lateral support through a webbed lacing system.
“I’m not just a basketball player,” said Mitchell in a press release. “I want kids to have my shoes not only because they are fans but because there’s a purpose behind them… I will continue to speak on what I feel is right and what needs to change… I don’t just speak for Donovan Mitchell, I speak for Black people and minorities knowing change is not necessarily happening next year or the one after that, but it does start with the future and that is where kids are.”
The Spidey-Sense sneaker is priced at $100 and will be available on Adidas.com and select other retailers beginning on August 28. Adidas teases more new designs to come in the latter half of 2020.

In other Spider-Man news, we just learned he’ll be a playable DLC character in Marvel’s Avengers… but only on the PS4 version. Unsurprisingly, some gamers are less than thrilled with this news. Fortunately, Spider-Man is the only playable character who will be locked to a specific system.
