Director James Gunn has revealed the very classic DC Comics-accurate logo for his upcoming movie The Suicide Squad.

In a social media post, James Gunn revealed the logos for The Suicide Squad that he says were sent to him as a birthday present from the filmmaking team. Gunn’s tweet included four logos for the film in different languages.

Eagle-eyed aficionados of old school DC Comics will recognize the bullet-riddled logo as being a direct homage to the Suicide Squad comics of the 1980s, which Gunn is drawing inspiration from for his movie.

The gunshot logo should also be familiar to fans of The A-Team, the 1980s mercs on the run TV series.

As Gunn promised, The Suicide Squad will be among the many upcoming DC movies set to present fans with first look footage and imagery at DC FanDome, Warner Bros.’ virtual convention being held August 24.

For more on The Suicide Squad, read up on why the film’s title wasn’t originally meant to be The Suicide Squad and why The Suicide Squad won’t be delayed like so many other productions affected by the pandemic.
