As for the hardware, the Pixel 4a sports a 5.8-inch 1080p OLED display. It has a plastic casing, with a fingerprint sensor on the back. For audio, you get stereo speakers, as well as a traditional headphone jack. Google says the battery reliably lasts up to 24 hours.
One of the Pixel 4a’s biggest selling points is the camera. The front camera has an 8-megapixel sensor, while the back camera has a 12.2-megapixel sensor. In practice, according to the reviews, that back camera takes photos that look just as good as phones that cost twice or even three times the price.
Since this is a Google phone, it has a clean, uncluttered version of Android software. You can summon Google Assistant easily to open apps, send texts, and the like. It also has a powerful speech transcription feature that can accurately transcribe phone calls and recordings in real time.
Basically, the overwhelming conclusion of all the reviews I found was that this is a terrific phone for the price. The only other handset that comes close is the iPhone SE, which costs $50 more. If that sounds good to you, you can place your preorder now.
