The Pokémon Company has announced that mobile puzzler Pokémon Cafe Mix has served up a huge five million total downloads since its June launch for Nintendo Switch and mobile platforms.
The free-to-play title puts players in charge of a Pokémon-themed restaurant, and must “serve” a steady stream of critters via a series of colourful, icon-matching mini-games. Impress your customers enough, and they’ll come to work for you – which I’m not sure is quite how the hospitality industry works, but let’s just run with it. Of course, as is the case with almost all F2P mobile games, elements such as “stamina”, currencies, and microtransactions are present.
