The Razer Blade Pro 17 is something of a space/time paradox.
The Pro 17 is what’s called a “desktop replacement” class of laptop. Meaning, that it’s a laptop that should be portable… but also just big enough to fit hardware, build quality, and durability to replace a desktop PC. Most of all, those three qualities must come together in stats that are so serious that serious people would conceivably give up an even bigger monitor and tower for this replacement.
Which brings about the paradox: like an advanced alien craft, The Razer Blade Pro 17 appears as if it’s smaller than itself. Because for all it’s power and pixels, it’s somehow the little things that define the Pro 17.

The Razer Blade Pro 17 begins as an aluminum, unibody design milled from a single piece of metal. This provides for a strong, flex-free body. A literal powerhouse for its hardware power. But in contradiction, the laptop is under one inch tall when closed and just a hair over 6lbs fully loaded. Even the “paint” is anodized into the chassis; lightweight and backpack tough.
The entire laptop seems dedicated to not just managing that heat, making it and the systems that combat it nearly unnoticeable. You’ll see the desktop-grade results from the CPU and GPU, but the custom vapor pipe hides not just heat, but noise and performance impacts.
Even the redesigned hinge doubles as a radiator, drawing even more heat out of the system.
But the best detail is that the upgrade areas on the Pro 17 are user-accessible. There’s an open M.2 storage slot for up to 2TB of HDD and the capacity for 64GB DDR4 RAM. All upgradable yourself.
