Arkane Studios showed off a new trailer for its upcoming Deathloop during Sony’s PlayStation event today, showing that the studio known for its immersive sims isn’t ditching player freedom in its shooter. The clip explains how players will be able to manipulate events on a looping timeline to nudge targets into position for their assassinations.

In the trailer, we see how an inventor and another target can be pushed into attending a party on Blackreef Island. The inventor is on the verge of making a technological breakthrough; if players prevent that from happening in the game’s looping timeline, the discouraged techie will attend the party to drown his sorrows – giving players the opportunity to take him and the other target out in one convenient hit.

Deathloop is coming to PlayStation 5 and PC in Q2 2021.
