CG writes: In this graphics comparison video using the visually pleasing game Hubris (from developer Cyborn BV), which is available for PC VR via Steam, Playstation VR 2 and on the Meta Quest 3 as a standalone version , we look at the visual differences. On closer inspection running the two games, it’s clear that although the standalone version does extremely well for the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 hardware it’s running on (which has to be commended), it’s still visually quite basic in comparison to the PC VR version. The gap has closed somewhat, but there’s still a big difference and not just differences in resolution, but also effects like lighting, texture detail, shadows, and even the number of props in the world. Quest 3 owners should be happy with how far the games look over previous Quest iterations, but even when PC VR games are being streamed via apps such as Virtual Desktop (via airlink), if that is an option, then it’s certainly a preferred one.
